Located near Veraval, on the western coast of India, The  Somnath Temple  is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. Destroyed six times by Muslim conquerors and rebuilt by successive Hindu rulers, Somnath was last destroyed in 1701 CE by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb who  built a mosque in its place. In November 1947 the mosque was relocated to another place and a new temple was constructed in its place. The present temple is managed by Shree Somnath Trust.
